THE SEC Rica & Messod Emquies Israel Relief Fund
When Israel was attacked on October 7th 2023, the SEC did not wait.
We showed up.
From Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.
From the North to the South.
From the front lines to displaced families.
This is how we stand with Israel. We're a team of passionate thinkers and doers, dedicated to building with purpose and clarity. Collaboration and curiosity drive everything we do. Our process is simple, thoughtful, and designed with your experience in mind. We believe great results come from clear steps, open collaboration, and a shared sense of purpose.
Housing the displaced
The Sephardic House Opens Its Doors
The SEC Sephardic House began hosting more than 100 Israeli citizens displaced from their homes in the North and South.
Families arrived with uncertainty.
We welcomed them with dignity.
• Full hospitality, free of charge
• Safe housing in the Old City of Jerusalem
• Recreational activities for children
• Community support and warmth
The Jerusalem Police Department formally presented our Sephardic House Manager, Israel Shalem, and staff with a Certificate of Appreciation for generously housing evacuated families.
Because when Israelis are uprooted — we make space.
SUPPORTING HOSTAGES & THEIR FAMILIES
Rabbi Bouskila, Peni, and their daughter Shira traveled to Tel Aviv to demonstrate and show public support for the kidnapped Israeli citizens.
They stood in solidarity. They prayed. They advocated.
At Hostage Square and beyond, the SEC community remained visible.
Praying for their return. Supporting their families.
Keeping them safe in our hearts.
SUPPORTING OUR SOLDIERS
On the Front Lines
IDF soldiers stationed in the North and South received:
• New helmets
• Flashlights
• 50 combat-ready water canteens
• Protein bars
• Electrolyte packets
The SEC’s Rica Emquies Relief Fund ensured soldiers had what they needed — immediately.
Rabbi and Peni personally delivered homemade beef jerky, care packages, supplies, and letters to Ilan Bouskila’s infantry unit near Gaza.
They drove it themselves to a southern base and to the Golan Heights in the North.
Support is not symbolic.
It is practical.
Combat-ready.
TORAH ON THE FRONT LINES
Rabbi Daniel Bouskila met his dear colleague, Rabbi and combat soldier David Zeno, delivering pocket-sized Torah study books he requested.
Armed with a Tavor rifle and Torah commentaries, this scholar-soldier represents the spirit of Israel.
Strength and spirit.
Defense and faith.
Torah travels everywhere our soldiers go.
Volunteering across israel
-
Rabbi Bouskila and Peni volunteered with Achim LaNeshek (Brothers in Arms) — the largest volunteer organization in Israel.
They assisted wherever needed.
Intake of evacuated families.
Distribution of supplies.
Community coordination.Because solidarity means action.
-
At a special backyard shuk in Kfar Saba, Rabbi and Peni purchased fresh fruits and vegetables grown in southern Israel.
Supporting farmers.
Supporting local agriculture.
Strengthening economic resilience.
-
Rabbi Bouskila delivered much-needed funds to the Adi Negev Rehabilitation Center, located just 12 miles from the Gaza border.
Shira Bouskila uplifted patients with her music.
In times of trauma, healing is sacred work.
We support body and soul.
